Poem : The New Year
Year's end, year's start, In every heart, joy takes part. New the year, new the hope On dreams anew,we gladly float. New the tune, new the life A song of joy, hearts inspire. Let all gloom and age be gone, Let hearts with happiness be shone. New the peace, new the cheer, In the new year, sorrow will clear. New the touch, new the face, In love anew, a sweet embrace. New the dawn ,new the light, May everyone's world be bright. --------------------------------- Poet : Dr. Goutam Kumar Mallick
Poem : A World Without War
Those who have to fight wars or march to the battlefield don't know why war is waged. Yet look at those who know why, they sit comfortably in cold chambers, keeping their minds calm, and occasionally deliver speeches mixing warmth with reason. If those whose fingers command wars had to step onto the battlefield, then on this earth , not a single war would ever happen. ------------------- Poet : Dr.Goutam Kumar Mallick
Poem : O First Scientist
On the path you showed, we boarded buses, trains And airplanes, And reached the land of the atom bomb. Today we can reach the moon, none will be amazed if we set foot on mars. We can give life, yet remain busy in the game of taking lives. The mask of civilization falls away in a sudden gust of wind. O first scientist, was it not you who sowed the seed of civilization ? Come again plant a tender sapling anew --- not outside, but deep within our veins, let civilization bloom in blood. ----------------------- Poet : Dr.Goutam Kumar Mallick
