Year's end, year's start, In every heart, joy takes part. New the year,new the hope On dreams anew,we gladly float. New the tune, new the life A  song  of joy, hearts inspire. Let all gloom and age be gone, Let hearts with happiness be shone. New the  peace, new the cheer, In  the  new year,sorrow  will clear. New the touch,new the face, In love anew, a sweet embrace. New  the  dawn ,new  the light, May everyone's  world  be bright. --------------------------------- Poet : Dr. Goutam Kumar Mallick

Poem : Ten Fools

Fool number one
Takes a cheat sheet to the test ---
Fails the paper like the rest.

Fool number two
Knows that smoking kills, oh dear,
Still  lights a bidi, puffing cheer.

Fool number three
Cries, " I'm weak,I'm poor,I'm small,"
Makes a victim of it all.

Fool number four
Spends his savings , what a case ---
On another man's  wife's necklace !

Fool number five
Even dying, loudly cries ;
" Shankara, you must survive ".

Fool number six
Truth is simple,clear,and plain ---
But his tongue's locked up in chain.

Fool number seven
Dances to each gossip word,
Boasts the loudest ,most absurd.

Fool number eight
Morning,evening ,sits and chatters,
Talking nonsense,nothing matters.

Fool number nine
Shivers at his  wife's call
She's the general, he's small.

Fool number ten
Throws his money, what a loss !
Then pretends to be the boss.
