No  one  loses  in  war --- Yet  peace  is  defeated. No  one  loses  in  war --- Yet  happiness  is  defeated. No  one  loses  in  war --- Yet  hope  is  defeated. No  one  loses in war --- Yet  love  is defeated. No  one  loses  in war ---- Yet  joy  is  defeated. No  one loses  in  war --- Yet smiling faces are defeated. No  one  loses  in  war ---- Yet  dreams  are  defeated. No  one  loses  in  war --- Yet  delight  is  defeated. No  one  loses  in  war --- Yet  generosity  is  defeated. No  one loses in war ---- Yet  tolerance is  defeated. No  one  loses  in  war ---- Yet  conscience  is  defeated. No  one  loses  in  war --- Yet...

Poem : O First Scientist




On the path you showed,
we boarded buses,trains
And airplanes,
And reached the land of the atom bomb.

Today we can reach the moon,
none will be amazed
if we set foot on mars.

We can give life,
yet remain busy
in the game of taking lives.
The mask of civilization
falls away
in a sudden gust of wind.

O first scientist,
was it not you
who sowed the seed of civilization ?

Come again
plant a tender sapling anew ---
not outside,
but deep within our veins,
let civilization bloom in blood.

Last time, I had wished to say -- O Mother, grant me the strength to gift my wife a new sari, to clothe my child in fresh attire -- But the words never left my lips. Instead,within my heart I prayed O Slayer of Demons, do not falter in Your battle ! Yet even that remained unsaid. And when You arrived ,Mother, Your Presence filled me with such joy That I forgot everything else.
