Poem : In Search of Your Smiling Face
( In memory of Astronaut Kalpana Chawla)
One day you looked up at the sky from the earth,
One day your dreams touched the stars in the
sky.
Was it that you loved the sky so deeply
That you choose to remain there forever?
Today, just once,look down from the sky to
the earth -----
All the flowers have slipped from our hands.
With tear - filled eyes, everyone gazes upward,
Among the stars of the sky
Searching for your smiling face.

Poem : Mother Durga Is Coming

Last time, I had wished to say -- O Mother, grant me the strength to gift my wife a new sari, to clothe my child in fresh attire -- But the words never left my lips. Instead,within my heart I prayed O Slayer of Demons, do not falter in Your battle ! Yet even that remained unsaid. And when You arrived ,Mother, Your Presence filled me with such joy That I forgot everything else.
