No one wins in war, In war, what wins in anguish. No one wins in war, In war,what wins is poverty. No one wins in war , In war , what wins is cruelty. Poem : What I Want




Not a measured, practiced smile ----
I crave
A smile that wells from blood-stirred
haemoglobin's tide.

No crocodile tears ------
But briny drops I seek
To rinse the soul,to cleanse all sins
in salted streaks.

No masks, no painted grace -----
I look for
A face that draws innocent kisses
on the cheek.

Last time, I had wished to say -- O Mother, grant me the strength to gift my wife a new sari, to clothe my child in fresh attire -- But the words never left my lips. Instead,within my heart I prayed O Slayer of Demons, do not falter in Your battle ! Yet even that remained unsaid. And when You arrived ,Mother, Your Presence filled me with such joy That I forgot everything else.
