Poem : Umiam
(A poem on Umiam Lake of Meghalaya ,India) Though today the sky is cloudy, Light and shadow softly play. Umiam ---- around you gathers A fair of trees in green array. A gentle breeze flows calm and sweet, Waves rise with a murmuring sound. My soul finds peace beholding you ---- As though someone lit joy all around. At the call of birds, My heart longs to drift away. My eyes are filled with your beauty --- I wish to return someday.
