Year's end, year's start, In every heart, joy takes part. New the year,new the hope On dreams anew,we gladly float. New the tune, new the life A  song  of joy, hearts inspire. Let all gloom and age be gone, Let hearts with happiness be shone. New the  peace, new the cheer, In  the  new year,sorrow  will clear. New the touch,new the face, In love anew, a sweet embrace. Poem : I Love Shillong

I love Shillong, I love Shillong, And yes, I love Shillong. Even today I see your image In the canvas of my mind. I love you, Shillong I truly love you. I often think Did God Himself Paint your beauty On the hills ? Shillong, you look beautiful, You really look beautiful. Trees and greenery wrapped Around soothing hills ----- Like a land  from fairly tales. You look wonderful, Shillong,you look wonderful. The sun and clouds Play together all day long. Watching it all, My heart overflows With waves of joy. " Shillong,I love you" My heart whispers aloud. When Waterfalls, Come dancing down the mountains, Every joy within me Starts dancing like waves. Shillong, I love you. You are the jewel In the eyes of thousands of travelers. Even from afar, I still hear your call. And silently I say ----- I will come again, Shillong, I will come to you. (A poem on Umiam Lake of Meghalaya ,India) Though today the sky is cloudy, Light and shadow softly play. Umiam ---- around you gathers A fair of trees in green array. A gentle breeze flows calm and sweet, Waves rise with a murmuring sound. My soul finds peace beholding you ---- As though someone lit joy all around. At the call of birds, My heart longs to drift away. My eyes are filled with your beauty --- I wish to return someday.
